Port City Bass Anglers is a non-profit organization, that is involved in our community. We are a club of about 23 bass fishing members. Currently, we're in the process of enlisting business sponsors to help with the funding of our annual Kid's Fishing Festival.
On July 25,2009, our club will be holding a fishing festival for kids at the Bynum Run Park in Bel Air, Maryland. It is a 5 acre stocked pond, that is handicap accessible. The kids fishing will be from 5 years old to 14 years old. It is our intention for prizes given out to all contestants (depending on sponsorship and donations). Also, beside kids fishing, we will be holding a casting kids event. This event is where kids cast to a target. The winners of the different age groups move on to compete against other kids in other regions. In 2007, we had close to 400 kids attend. In 2009, we are expecting 400+ kids, with 200+ guardians. We would like to give each kid a rod and reel combo to keep. We would like also to have food and drinks at the festival for everyone. Plus we need to have prizes to give out.
